By plane:
The closest airport is Los Garzones, located in the city of Monteria, about 2 hours from Paso Nuevo. Once you arrive in Montería, you can arrange a direct taxi to Paso Nuevo for around $230,000 COP (for up to 4 people). We’ll provide you with the taxi contact directly from the hotel.
Another option from Montería Airport is to take public transportation. You can take a bus or a shared car to Lorica , and from there, catch another shared vehicle to Paso Nuevo . Keep in mind that Montería’s main bus terminal is not close to the airport, so it's best to find transport that doesn't require going all the way there. The closest bus terminal to the airport along the route to Lorica is in Cereté, just 15 minutes away from the airport.

By car:
If you're coming from an inland city like Medellín, Bogotá, etc., the closest city you should head to is Montería, and then continue on to Lorica . If you're coming from the Atlantic coast (Cartagena, Barranquilla, Santa Marta, etc.), the closest city will be Lorica directly.
The drive from Montería to Lorica it's approximately 50 minutes , and from Cartagena to Lorica it's approximately 4 hrs . Once in Lorica, follow the Lorica–Moñitos road. About 45 minutes down that road, after passing through San Bernardo del Viento, you’ll reach Paso Nuevo.
There are parking areas available in Paso Nuevo, with daily rates ranging from approximately 10,000 to 12,000 COP. We recommend the parking lot run by Señora Ana.
* The Lorica–Moñitos road is often under repair, and some sections may be in poor condition. However, most vehicles can pass without any issues.

Public transportation:
To travel by bus, you can buy a ticket to Lorica, which is the closest bus terminal to the island.. From the Lorica terminal, you’ll find shared cars (colectivos) going to Paso Nuevo If you arrive in Montería, by bus , you can take another bus from Montería’s terminal to Lorica for around 18,000 COP per person.
Once in Lorica it’s easy to find transport to Paso Nuevo (about a 45-minute ride). These are usually shared cars, and you may need to wait until all 4 seats are filled. This ride costs about 20,000 COP per person or if you prefer to hire the car for yourself, the price is around 80,000 COP approx.
- From Paso Nuevo, Córdoba, you'll need to take a boat to Isla Fuerte. The ride takes about 45 minutes.
There are two types of boat services available to the island:
– Shared boat: This is the most affordable option, but you'll need to wait until there are enough passengers to depart (usually 5–6 people). These boats generally run in the morning, and it's easier to find one between 7 am to 12 pm During the high season, they run more frequently. This option usually costs between 35,000 – 50,000 COP per person.
– Private (express) boat: This means renting the entire boat just for you, and it can depart at the time you choose—anytime before 6:00 p.m. This option typically costs between 160,000 COP -180,000 COP for up to 6 people. . Additional passengers may incur an extra charge.
* In most cases, either boat option will drop you off directly at the hotel.
IMPORTANT: When leaving the island, please note that shared boats usually depart in the morning (until around 12:00 p.m.). If you plan to leave the island using this option, you'll need to follow the schedule provided at the front desk. If there aren't enough passengers to fill a shared boat at your desired time, you will need to cover the cost of a private boat.
